Drawing attention as a DJ unit with bookings at leading domestic festivals like Fuji Rock Festival and Green Room Festival, YOSA & TAAR have released "Echoes feat. Aile The Shota," a lead single from their 2nd album, Modern Disco Driver—a project themed on "liberation," set for release this summer.
Crafted into a hypnotic track that follows the lineage of UK House, Aile The Shota's featured falsetto vocals blend seamlessly into the production, creating a majestic soundscape that evokes "the eve of a revolution." The result is a powerful dance anthem of awakening.
All eyes are on this upcoming release, their first full-length album in six years since 2019's Modern Disco Tours.
Furthermore, a release party has been confirmed for Friday, August 29, at Shibuya's iconic WOMB. The night will feature a special live set from YOSA & TAAR with guest vocalists, alongside a stacked lineup including residents from their own Modern Disco event and special guests like Shinichi Osawa, Shokuhin Matsuri a.k.a. YOSA & TAAR is the collaborative project of renowned DJs and producers YOSA and TAAR. As resident DJs at the acclaimed "MODERN DISCO" party held at premier Tokyo venues like SOUND MUSEUM VISION and WOMB, they launched their joint project to pioneer a new wave in house and disco. Their 2018 debut single, "Slave of Love ft. Taichi Mukai & MINMI," instantly turned heads with its unexpected yet powerful collaboration, perfectly embodying the "new generation of disco-house" they champion. Aile The Shota debuted in January 2022 with "AURORA TOKIO" from BMSG, the label led by CEO SKY-HI. In November 2024, he released his 1st album, REAL POP, and in March of this year, he held his solo concert "Aile The Shota Oneman Live 'REAL POP'" at the Tokyo Garden Theater, which sold out instantly.
He captivates listeners with his silky voice that melts into his tracks, lyrics crafted with a discerning aesthetic, and melodies painted with pure intuition. With roots in dance and a deep appreciation for Black music, he possesses a rare musicality that also has a strong affinity with J-POP. He is an artist whose "very existence is the genre" and "very existence is music."
