Thailand’s Flower.far Releases Japanese Cover Album “What if…” Today! Comment Also Arrives from Taku Takahashi (m-flo, block.fm)

 / Thailand

From the joint project between Thailand’s rising label YUPP! Entertainment and Japan’s music company KSR Corp., artist Flower.far has officially released her Japanese cover album What if… today, Friday, May 8.

What if… is a cover album that reinterprets iconic Japanese songs through Flower.far’s unique artistic perspective.

With delicate and transparent vocals combined with a contemporary sound approach, the album preserves the charm of the original songs while presenting a fresh listening experience.

This project has been developed across both Japan and Thailand, blending creative talents from both countries throughout the production and creative process.

Rather than following the traditional one-way model of “Japan to overseas,” the project is gaining attention for practicing a circular music development and distribution model of “Japan → Thailand → Japan.”

Following the release, a comment has also been received directly from ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo, block.fm) regarding Flower.far’s cover of “Yours only,”.

Comment from ☆Taku Takahashi

“It captured the delicate emotions of the original in such a thoughtful and careful way, and it sounded incredibly fresh to me. I’ve always felt that m-flo’s music has a certain openness that allows it to be reinterpreted across different eras, and this cover truly embodies that.
What stood out to me was how the arrangement and the texture of her voice come together to reconstruct the song as her own story. I found that very impressive, and it genuinely made me happy.”

This comment goes beyond being a simple reaction. It symbolizes a new musical movement in which Japanese music is reinterpreted by overseas artists, allowing its value to circulate back into Japan in a renewed form.

In addition, a documentary following the behind-the-scenes process of the album’s creation has already been released, drawing attention to the cross-border music production process itself.

This release is expected to become a symbolic example of how music projects originating in Asia can transcend borders and generate new cultural value.

Starting with this release, Flower.far plans to expand more actively into both the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets. Through live performances, collaborations, and visual content, she aims to further grow her presence as an artist.

-Synopsis-
A young Thai girl who has long admired Japan encounters a new culture through the only weapon she possesses — her voice — and gradually transforms her dreams into reality.
This documentary follows her journey as she confronts Japan through music and challenges herself beyond borders.

Throughout the process, the film captures a musical dialogue connecting Japan, Thailand, and Asia, portraying the universality of music that transcends language and cultural differences to move people emotionally.

At the same time, despite not coming from a particularly privileged environment, the film depicts how she carves out her own path through talent and determination, revealing both the strength required to pursue dreams and the real-life story behind them.
